Stabilisation at vertebral displacement and scoliosis
A surgical stabilisation of the spine is concidered if pain persists, although intensive conservative therapy e.g. minimally invasive treatment has been implemented before. This is required at intense wear of the intervertebral discs, vertebral displacement due to injury, instabilities and / or neurological symptoms.
The surgery is comprised of 3 elements: At first we relieve the incarcerated nerve of the spinal cord and / or cleanse the disc space. The stabilisation takes place by the use of implants and bone graft, that will lead to a tight bony connection of the various vertebras.
The framework is buit by titan-screws and –rods that connect the concerned vertebral segments. These ensure that the vertebrals grow together at the right distance and right position.
